2010 Bridal Inspirations Wedding Expo-BB Jean Events, Bellingham WA Wedding Planner

The Bridal Inspirations Wedding Expo was fantastic this year! There were literally hundreds of additional attendees that we didn't expect so it was a welcome treat to have so many guests stop by our booth to see what we're all about!

This year we opted for something a little bit Victorian, a little bit vintage, a wee bit of modern and lots of elegant glamour! We had a great time putting this together and hope it shows our potential brides that we can definitely class things up with capabilities to do anything in between.

A big thank you to Andi of Pure Bliss Desserts! Every time I've worked with her, she's been fabulous and for this event she provided the fondant covered mini cakes that were in our display! Thanks a ton, Andi! Your gorgeous little treats were a huge hit!

Expo Sneak Peak!-BB Jean Events, Bellingham, WA Wedding Planner

I just got home not to long ago from participating in the 2010 Bridal Inspirations Wedding Expo here in Bellingham! After a long day and meeting hundreds of brides I'm tired but content :) had a great time connecting with all of the new brides, loved reconnecting with some awesome vendors and all in all it was a fantastic day!

Special thanks to our new intern Marissa who did a rockin' job at her first event with us! Also thank you to Erin and Mackenzie for helping us throughout the day and being some of the #1 supporters of BB Jean :) You are very much appreciated!

Friendlier Flowers + Favors

Flower favors have to be one of my most favorite things to do at weddings for a few reasons: They can serve as your centerpiece or another decor element, they act as favors, they are live plants which are good for your home and they don't get thrown into the garbage like candy favors do once all of the chocolate has been scarfed :)


Clustering a group of flowers together on the table makes for a pretty, garden-like centerpiece. Martha Stewart Weddings recommends a little sign with them that say "Pick one" so guests know to claim one when the night is through.


Putting flowers on a silver tray or in silver vases instantly ups the glam factor. These purple hyacinths are striking and add a lot of vibrant color to your space. Again, just make sure guests are informed that one is for them. Another idea is to place a small potted bloom at each guests' space with their name on it: favor, namecard and decor piece all in one.

Friendlier Flowers

Flowers can be one of the biggest expenses at your wedding, which is kind of sad considering they only get one day to show their stuff and die a few days later.

Give you flowers a longer life and have them serve a few extra functions by opting for potted blooms rather then cut. To make this work for you, find flowers that match your event and pair them in a beautiful pot.

Clustered blooms add some visual interest as well as keep your costs affordable. By pairing more affordable flowers with exotic, you still get a beautiful look without blowing your budget.

This centerpiece is made of pink hyacinths which smell good and make a grand statement when placed in a silver vase. At the end of the evening, have each bridesmaid, or mothers of the bride and groom take the centerpieces home as a gift. Or opt for different blooms on each table-after the wedding they become the start to the garden in your new home and will give you new blooms year after year.
